Step 2. Assigning Coaches to Teams

Forming teams is a 3-step process that involves:

  1. Creating and Naming teams (Click here for instructions) 
  2. Assigning Coaches to Team per the instructions below
  3. Assigning Players to Teams (Click here for instructions)

Note: you can do step 3 before step 2 if you want.

Step 2: Assigning Coaches to Teams

To assign coaches to teams you use the Assign Roster link. It is important to make sure you set the filters correctly or you will see parents that are not in your league and could end up assigning them to teams that they are not coaching.

  1. Log into the system at http://www.wwpsa2.org and click on the Admin link in the top right hand corner.
  2. Click on Assign Rosters
  3. Complete the screen that is displayed as follows (see below for more detail)

  4. Select a Team - pick 2015-2016 in the first drop down and then pick a team from your league in the 2nd drop down on that row. You can’t pick league names you must pick a team. This is the team you will be assigning coaches too.
  5. Select participants - pick All Participants
  6. Member type - pick Parents only 
  7. Gender – pick All
  8. Born between – leave blank
  9. Between Grades – leave blank
  10. Registered to pick 2015 Fall Coach Rec
  11. Assign Jersey numbers from previous teams – does not matter 
  12. Notes Contain – can be used to filter on notes parents entered. Since the notes are free form text this is probably not going to work that well or be that useful
  13. Click Submit to list the participants per how you defined them in the above questions
  14. The system will then prompt you for other registration criteria. You can use the drop down to pick various data questions and specific what the answer must be for the participant to be displayed. You can use it as follows to display people who have volunteered to coach:
    • Gender (Male or Female) and Grade (PreK, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th) must be entered exactly as shown.
    • Gender2 and Grade2 for coaches who are coaching more than one team.
    • Note: you can use just Gender or Grade if you want to list everyone who is coaching.
  15. Click Submit again and the next screen will list the team you selected on the left side and the coaches on the right side.
    1. To add a someone to the team click on a name under eligible members
    2. To remove a participant from a team click on a name under the team name on the left side.
  16. Click Save Roster to save the team assignment. If you don’t click Save Roster and exit out all your work will be lost.
  17. Everyone assigned to the team will be displayed. Make sure under Poston that you pick the Coach or Asst Coach option for coaches and then click Submit to save the roster. If you do not do this the coaches will show up on the roster as players.
